Seddon has appointed a new regional director for its social housing division.
Duncan Williams brings with him more than 20 years’ experience in social housing construction and maintenance and joins the builder at its Bolton headquarters.
Williams has unveiled plans for the division, including growing the company’s long established presence in North Wales.
Seddon has already secured £31 million of social housing contracts in the North West this year, having been awarded new build and planned maintenance contracts by several new and existing registered provider clients.
Duncan Williams, Regional Director for the North West, said: "Not only have we secured £31 million of social housing contracts this year, we have also have won positions with all the major frameworks, which will allow us to continue our long-term growth strategy.
"Whilst we are now proving to be consistent in our tendering activity, our land-led development opportunities go from strength to strength and we have also seen an increase in joint venture partnerships on mixed tenure and private sales schemes.
"As we look to push our boundaries into Wales, we will bring with us heritage and a commitment to deliver employment opportunities in the communities we work in.”
Seddon is unique in its offering to social housing providers in its dedication to training and development, with its apprentices gaining three and a half years of training compared to the two years provided by some other firms.
By training for longer Seddon offers real value to the communities it works in, with more than 95 per cent of apprentices staying with Seddon following their training.
Jonathan Seddon, Managing Director of Seddon, said: "Duncan’s appointment shows our commitment to delivering high-quality developments for our social housing clients.
"We are delighted to have attracted someone of Duncan’s calibre to our team. It is an exciting time to join Seddon as we continue to win new contracts, frameworks and develop new talent through our apprenticeship programmes.
"With our solid and consistent performance, commitment to training, loyal supply chain – who are paid on time every time - and the continued hard work of our people we are looking forward to being around for many more generations.”
