Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service has taken its training to new heights at a Seddon development in Stoke-on-Trent.
Rope rescue teams based at Sandyford Community Fire Station took the opportunity to use a tower crane for their training at Seddon’s £21.6 million Maple West, extra care development in Chell.
The development will see the transformation of the former Westcliffe Hospital site with the construction of 140 apartments built over the next two years.
Once complete the development will be managed by Your Housing Group.
James Green, Station Manager at Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service, said: "We are extremely grateful to Seddon for allowing us to use their Maple West development as a temporary training venue. Realistic training such as this not only provides reassurance to those working on-site, but also benefits local communities, as the skills and techniques practiced here will be put to use at real incidents across Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire.”
