The Medicines Evaluation Unit (MEU) Ltd, is one of the UK’s leading contract research organisations, a facility where commitment to excellence is paramount. It possesses extensive pharmaceutical, scientific and clinical expertise, within a state-of-the-art hospital-based research facility.

Seddon undertook the design and construction of the original two storey Medicines Evaluation Unit (approximately 1500m²). The traditionally constructed building was fitted out to a high standard with extensive mechanical and electrical installations, suspended ceilings, hardwood doors, carpets and floor finishes. External works comprised of car parking, footpaths, perimeter fencing and gates, landscaping, drainage and services.

Following a competitive tender, Seddon were appointed to undertake a £1.2m two-storey steel framed extension to the original unit.

Building work extended the Medicines Evaluation Unit on the site so that the focus was developed from early stage phase 1 and phase 2 clinical trials to create a hub for studying the efficacy of more population focused, evidence - based treatments. Work on the new building was completed in February 2012
